These assets are given to WJLY at the current market value, regardless of the cost or basis of the donor, which avoids the capital gains. WJLY will liquidate the gifts as soon as possible after the receipt. You will receive a letter from WJLY describing your gift.

You get the tax deductible benefit of donating the original cost of the stock along with the appreciated value without paying taxes on either.
